Selling you the Jantar Mantar
Just curious. Given that ideas from the West are easily adapted to India, do we have pyramid schemes in India too? I have only heard of chit fund scandals in the past but not this small-scale-but-large-scale menace that George and Hirak have blogged about in the past.I vote we call them Jantar-Mantar schemes.

Yes. Amway, Oriflame have always been there. There have been lot of internet based scams going around these days - I have been approached by one guy I gave a lift to and an instructor at a gym.
Just check the "Work from home" ads in the classified sections - so many gullible bakras.
thanks. wanted to be aware of such things. I guess you need to know people first for them to "touch" you, so my small social circle must be keeping me safe for now :-)
