Double Double-youDespite a book, a movie and several other efforts by Michael Moore and colleagues, Bush is President and the Reps won almost every major contest by a margin. Probably all his virulent opponents succeeded in doing was to awake several of the dormant Republican faithful and get them to the booths.
The message I take from the election results (not being affected nor influencing it directly) is one of hope. Look at this: a man who was a proven failure till about a decade ago in all that he attempted (plus a drinking habit to boot) in the final analysis is now a two time President of the most influential country in the world, and he did it relatively easily in the end. It's a lesson in sticking out there inspite of all the setbacks in life if nothing else. Of course, it helps to have lots of money, influence & a set of high ranking relatives, but it's also a question of fortune. Which even history will not be able to deny that POTUS #43 had plenty of that.
