No self-respecting P.G.Wodehouse hero or Drones member (even the odd feisty lady) will have a name, preferably long and excessively formal, without possessing an equally frivolous nickname. Gussie, Freddie, Oofy, Bingo and Stiffy are among those that spring to mind.

Barmy Fotheringay-Phipps is definitely a classic PGW specimen, but I only just found out the other day that the "Fotheringay" is to be pronounced something like "Fringee"! This reminds me of the other Brit-name-pronounced-radically-differently case: "Cholmondley" which, if my informers are to be believed, is pronounced as "Chumley".

Of course they must all reside in Worcestershire or Gloucestershire!
