Pointing out your mistakes
Referalls in tennis, though not so shrilly debated, are interesting to observe. Today, in an Australian Open match between Patty Schnyder and her 2nd-round vanquisher, Casey Delacqua, there was a rather curious incident. Schnyder put in a first-serve, which was duly returned by the Australian. However, Schnyder did not attempt to hit it back. Instead, she chose to call for Hawk-Eye to appeal a fault off her own serve!She was right and the point was replayed. Schnyder spoilt the minor victory by crashing the next serve into the net.
