... had nothing to do with it, despite what many growing-up quizzes have fondly asked and we fondly lapped up in the pre-Web days (how blissfully innocent things were!). The other story (perhaps not as romantic, but quite as interesting) about the abortive world record attempt at Pune was right.

What is the Mrs Nimbalkar story? Is this in the same league as the Mittag-Leffer chronicle?
Not as tragicomic. The story, acc. to quizzes, was that Bhausaheb Nimbalkar had to go off to get married, couldn't postpone the date and so couldn't complete his world-record :-)
