The Best World Cup Final ever

Easily the best ever - England beat Australia in a thriller that couldn't have been scripted better. Any final that has the match tied in the last minute of full-time, then a lead taken in the 1st half of extra time, then the hosts coming back to tie the match once again in the second-last minute of extra-time only to be followed immediately in the last-minute by the winner, (scored by the best players in the world) to give the top seeds (and most deserving team) a win over the hosts - it seemed a little too perfect. Even better was the fact that things were decided in extra-time instead of the lottery of sudden-death or a shootout.

The only baffling thing was Australia failed to mark Jonny Wilkinson well enough, especially in the closing moments of the match when it was extremely obvious that a drop goal attempt was imminent. But then it was just meant to be.
