Convergent Cinema

Outlook Magazine has a collection of articles on a theme called Convergent Cinema discussing the current hype about whether Bollywood is actually doing fresh plots and better cinema. There are some detailed observations on different aspects and interviews with the people who seem to be at the forefront of these efforts (the links at the end of the lead article and the set of links on the right sidebar of the article).

But the most telling pages for me were Anurag Kashyap's "Alternate View" in which you can get a glimpse of the anguish that guy has experienced over the last few years.
